Blog Post #26 The Continuation of LOST

Although this production is only the opening, the continuation of the film is still important. I have furthered my film and created the following scenes. These scenes will not be included in my opening but still hold significance when trying to understand my opening.

The ending scene will be a flash leading to Alyssa waking up again. This will be the last scene of my sequence. If this were to continue, Alyssa would wake up but as her kindergarten self. The following scenes would then show Alyssa and Katie's friendship develop more in depth. Alyssa and Katie would go on their play dates to the park up until Katies disappearance.

Katie and Alyssa would be seen in a two-shot playing on the swing. The camera would cut to the sky and pan down to Katie alone on the swing. There would then be cross cutting showing Alyssa running off in a hurry to the hospital and Katie wandering through the woods alone.

The family emergency Alyssa was dealing with would be revealed to be her grandma's death. Alyssa would then be seen sitting on the couch at home whilst texting Katie apologizing for ditching her. She would then receive no answer. Alyssa would begin to watch TV and see that Katie had been reported missing.

Alyssa would then spend days on the phone with the police questioning whether they had found her or not. Alyssa as well as Katies' parents would spend months without closure. One year later, Katie would be reported dead. Alyssa would feel as if her best friend's death was her fault. Although Alyssa would feel guilty., she would brush her guilt and emotions under the rug and continue through high school with this guilt in the back of her mind.

The following scenes would recap my opening but in depth. This means that Alyssa would wake up from her dream and continue to get ready for school. She would go to the park with her friends and be forced to walk home by herself just like Katie was. Alyssa would then begin to see this scary character as if it were haunting her. Once Alyssa arrived home, she would begin washing her face when she suddenly sees the scary character in the mirror. This is a more in- depth recap of what happened during the opening. Alyssa will then slowly begin to put the pieces together. She will begin to understand that her built up guilt is coming back to haunt her.

My opening scene leaves viewers with many questions as to what haunting Alyssa was as well as why. This blog answers those questions and gives audiences an insight of what would happen if my opening were produced into the full film.
