Costuming plays a significant role in representing a character's traits. Alyssa is meant to be portrayed as a peppy joyous teen. This means she should be seen wearing bright colors to represent joy. Lauren is an intelligent individual. However, she has a more serious tone. For this reason, she is seen wearing a dark purple to signify seriousness. The scary character is haunting, eerie, and frightening. Due to this, I dressed the character in a long white dress covered in blood. I also decided upon having the character wear a cross. Crosses in horror movies represent protection against evil. So, the haunting character who is revealed to be Katie, is seen wearing a cross. This shows that she wants to repel the evil force that has taken over her. This evil force is Alyssa's mind.
The scary character is seen as dingy and gory. To fully embody this, along with the blood, I decided to make the actor, Kryscelle, have dirty socks. This helps the audience understand that the character is to be feared. To achieve this, I covered Kryscelles feet in sand as well as leaves. This created the look of dirtied socks.
