Blog Post #38 Behind the Scenes

Attached to this blog, is a behind the scenes clip as well as a labeled picture of me producing my opening sequence.

In this photo I am directing my sister who is portraying the role of Alyssa. In this shot Natalie was to open the fridge when suddenly the lights turn off resulting in a loud scream. To ensure this was simulated properly, I had to direct Natalie to do it properly. The opening of the fridge was meant to be fast to create the idea that Alyssa was feeling scared. This feeling may not have been present physically but was implied due to previous shots as well as fast movements hinting, she is running from thoughts such as the one she is in or in other words, the dream.
This photo shows the phone stand used to create the illusion of a professional camera. The technique called a hand-held shot is used to create shakiness which creates the sense of mayhem. This camera technique is produced by a cameraman holding the camera whilst following the action. To prevent this technique from appearing in my film, I used a phone stand to ensure the camera stayed steady.
