Editing plays a significant role in producing a film. During the editing phase, editors add, change, and delete shots. This process is used to ensure that a film flows and creates intentional meaning.
While editing my acquired footage for my opening, I struggled to create the illusion of a dream. The first couple of shots show Alyssa being haunted. This is revealed to be a dream. However, I have struggled to create the illusion of a dream.
Producing the look of a dream will allow the audience to fully understand the plot. To create this illusion, I envisioned using a blurred edge to enhance the dream like appeal. I also planned to use a closeup zoom into Alyssas face to create the illusion of entering her dream.
By using CapCut as well as Filmora, this is possible. However, creating this product has been difficult due to my lack of expertise. Although this is an issue, this dream effect is crucial in the development of my plot. This dream effect creates meaning by helping the viewers understand that she is dealing with past guilt.

Although there has been a struggle with producing this effect, I have been doing extensive research on the art of creating dreams within films. This has severally helped me to produce this dream.
